Jack Cowen was
born in
Houston, Texas in 1957 and has
always lived and worked in the
Houston area. Jack grew up in
the Humble/Kingwood area and has never left… while his brothers all
moved away!
My parents were very hard
working and I can remember my
father studying engineering while |

working for the Texas Department of Transportation
when I was very young. My mother went to college while I was in high
school and on to law school while I was in college. You either worked
or went to school at my house.

|
Weekends at the Cowen house were not fun. While
other kids sat around and watched Saturday morning cartoons—we would be
adding on a garage, pouring a slab or building a barn on our farm in
East Texas. At home we lived on an acre lot where my brothers and I all
took turns mowing with a push mower. The funny part was that when my
brothers and I all went away to college—my dad bought a riding lawn
mower.

Although my family worked
hard—my dad loved to hunt and fish. From duck, geese, pheasant,
turkey and deer—we did it all growing up. As I have gotten older—I
primarily enjoy pheasant hunting near the Canadian border or bay
fishing out of Galveston or Corpus Christi when ever I can. |

I first went to college at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville,
TX in 1976 and transferred to and graduated from the University of
Houston with a degree in finance.
I worked my way through college—first for Coca-Cola and next in labor
relations taking orders for labor gangs working ships docked at the
port of Houston. After college, I joined my family’s engineering
company and worked there until my father’s death in 1993. Since that
time I have been in real estate and the mortgage business, working for
RE/MAX, Prudential and Keller/Williams realty companies as well as
Allied Mortgage and Market America Mortgage before starting my own
companies in Houston & Dallas.

I have been married now for 18
years and have a daughter 17 (going on 25) and a son 13 years old.
My wife, Mauri along with being a VP with JPMorgan Chase Bank is
also a musician and is working |

on her 3rd album or CD. You can hear her music at

I truly enjoy my work And I especially enjoy helping folks get into a
home after other loan officers have failed. I take great pride in the
fact that I have not had a “bust out” or a loan that failed to close in
a long time because I pay very close attention to detail and do NOT
make “hollow” promises.
